RICHARD, RAOUL JOSEPH - The death of Raoul (Ralph) Joseph Richard, loving companion of Helen Phillips, occurred on Wednesday July 2, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1939 in Richobucto Village, NB he was the son of the late Gerald and Mary (Maillet) Richard. Ralph worked as a Welder for Saint John Shipbuilding for 33 years, retiring in 1997. He was an avid speed skater, enjoyed woodworking and being around lots of people. Besides his loving companion, Helen of 32 years, he is survived by his step-son Kevin Phillips; step-daughter Diane Martin (Andrew); brothers Norman (Jacqueline), Clarence (Rosemarie) and Joseph (Stella); sisters Yvette LeBlanc (Emile), Dorothy Richard and Alvita Goguen; two grandchildren Nathan and Ashley Martin; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother Guy Richard. Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday, July 3, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday July 4, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
