MARY ELBIRA OAGLES

OAGLES, MARY ELBIRA - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on July 15, 2008, Mrs. Mary Elbira (McLaughlin) Oagles, wife of the late Lesley Carr Oagles and the late Cedric Scott of Blacks Harbour NB went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. Born at Honeydale NB on October 5, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Scott) McLaughlin. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Mary is survived by two daughters, Lousie (Guy) McLaughlin of Blacks Harbour, Helen (Doug) Robillard of Ottawa ON; one son, Calvin (Thersea) Scott of Andersonville NB; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Doris McLaughlin of Saint John NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husbands, Cedric and Les, Mary was predeceased by three daughters, Erma Hannington, Barbara Thorne and Judy Ayotte; five brothers, Naaman, Quincy, Keith, Frank and Cecil; two sisters, Cora Regan and Ella McLaughlin. Prior to her retirement, Mary worked for many years at the factory for Connors Bros. at Blacks Harbour. She was a member of the United Pentecoastal Church at Blacks Harbour. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and serving her Lord. Resting at the United Pentecoastal Church, Blacks Harbour, from where the service will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Phil Anderson, Rev. Ivan Perry and Rev. Andrew Regich officiating. The interment will follow at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery. Visiting at the church on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In Mary's memory donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
