
HELENA TONER
TONER, HELENA - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helena Rosalie Toner (nee Fife/Fyfe) on July 18, 2008 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick at the age of 83. Predeceased by her dearly loved husband of 42 years, Joyner William Toner, in 1996, Helena died peacefully with members of her family around her. Born in Edmundston, NB in 1925, she was the last surviving daughter of Herbert Fife and Florence McKillian. She was predeceased by brothers, Garfield, Linwood, Carl, Jim, Emery, Elmer and Guy; and sisters, Bernice, and Irene (Horncastle). Helena was very active in the Catholic Women's League, Legion of Mary and also involved with the 4-H movement, as well as lay formation, school of faith and the church choir. Helena will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by many friends and her daughters, Edel (Richard) of Burnaby, BC, Jane (Eric) of Grand Falls, NB, Lori (Ken) of Lynden, ON; and sons, John (Heather) of O'Leary, PI, Paul (Martina) of Grand Bay, NB and Alan (Andree) of Lower Sackville, NS; and as well as her much loved grandchildren, Katie (Ben), Kerri (Joel), Emma, Brenna, Kylie and Mitchell. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Grand Falls Manor for their kind and sensitive care of Helena, the folks at the Victoria Glen Manor, Dr. Peter Moore and Dr. Shawn Blunston and the nurses from the Extra-Mural Team in Grand Falls. Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. A celebration of Helena's life and faith will be held on Tuesday July 22 at 11:00 am at the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with interment to follow in Grand Falls. Donations in Helena's memory may be made to the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Grand Falls Food Bank. www.oregans.ca
