IDA FAWCETT

FAWCETT, IDA - The death of Ida Fawcett of Hanwell, and formerly of Plaster Rock, N.B. occurred at the Pine Grove Nursing Home on Sunday, July 20th, 2008. Born in Wales, UK, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lily (Price) Kerton and the wife of the late Donald Fawcett. Ida graduated from Normal School and taught school for many years in Plaster Rock and surrounding areas while subsequently earning her Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Teaching Degrees. She enjoyed playing Piano, Knitting and Crocheting. An active member of Saint George's in Plaster Rock for many years, she attended Christ Church (Parish) Church since her retirement in the Fredericton area. She will be sadly missed by her loving family. Survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Spinney (Clyde) of Hanwell; two sons, Earle (Barbara) of Plaster Rock and Tommy (Nikki) of Minto; three grandchildren, Matthew, Gillian and Peter; one brother, Doug Kerton (Cherri) of BC; three sisters, Rose Charters of Charters Settlement, Pearl Smith (Merle) of New Maryland and Joan Cowie of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; her husband, Donald; two infant children; sisters, Margaret, Millie and Violet; brothers, Robert, Ben, Morgan, Charlie, David and Roger. Visitation will be held at Christ Church (Parish) Church on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Christ Church (Parish) Church on Thursday, July 24th, 2008 at 2:00 PM with The Rev. Anthony Kwaw officiating. For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, The Alzheimer Society or to the Christ Church (Parish) Church Chapel Restoration Fund.
