REID, SHIRLEY LORRAIN - The death of Shirley Lorrain Reid, beloved wife, mother, sister and friend, occurred at the Upper River Valley Hospital on July 25, 2008. She was born in Riverbank, NB on July 12, 1937 to the late James and Edna (Montgomery) Tompkins. She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Reid, Woodstock, NB, son, Thomas Reid (Diane), Jacksonville, NB, daughter, Lana Dickinson (Neil), Hinton, AB, five grandchildren; Seth (Charlotte), Hinton, AB, Aaron, Burnaby, BC, Haley, Hinton, AB, Christopher and Jesse, Greenfield, NB, brothers; Robert (Gayle), Waterford, MI, Neville (Eldine) Connell, sister Jean (Don) Walterboro, SC, aunt Marilyn Clark, Woodstock, NB. Before she was married she was a telephone operator in Florenceville, and Woodstock. She and her husband Kenneth farmed for 37 years in Knoxford, NB, and also had a Bed and Breakfast in Knoxford and Woodstock. Shirley worked 10 years at Newnham and Slipp Drugstore. They attended Jacksonville United Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral Home 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville NB on Sunday, July 27, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2008 from The Jacksonville United Baptist Church at 2 PM with Rev. Paul Wellwood officiating. Interment will be Upper Knoxford Cemetery.
