ELIZABETH (BETTY) MARGUERITE GILL
GILL, ELIZABETH (BETTY) MARGUERITE - The passing of Betty Gill of Fredericton occurred at York Manor Nursing Home on August 18, 2008. Born in 1932 in Ripples, NB, she was the youngest daughter of Alfred and Letitia MacWilliam. Betty was a wife, mother and friend not only to her family but to so many other people. During her long life, not only did she lovingly tend to all her family's needs but also found time to hold various positions as a member of the I.O.D.E. and the Fredericton Safety Council. Betty occasionally would sit with patients at the DECH, helped out with various functions at her church and was always willing to lend a hand when someone needed it. Betty dearly loved her family, life, people, and animals and loved to laugh. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Lloyd (Gillie); her sons, Robert (Debbie), Ronald (Karen), Brad; her daughters, Debbie and Brenda (Frank) Logan; her brother, Glen (Betty) MacWilliam and sister in law, Florence (Sam) Gilbey and brother in law, Gordon Tapley. Betty is also survived by grandchildren, Kim, Julie, Chris (Vicki), Pat, Francis, Matthew (Amanda), Anthony; four great grandchildren, Todd, Jarred, Samantha and Hailey as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents as well as sisters and brothers'-in-law, Thelma and Raymond Randall, Florence and Laurie Randall, Ruth and George Bird and Mary Tapley, an infant brother, James and her son in law, Richard Wilson. Resting at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, where there will be family visitations only Tuesday evening. Funeral service will be held at the St. Mary's Anglican Church on McEvoy Street at 11 AM, Wednesday, August 20, 2008 with Canon Tom Smith officiating. Interment in St. Mary's Anglican Church Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
