COWAN, DOROTHY L. - Dorothy Louise Cowan passed away peacefully at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Monday, September 01, 2008, in her 100th year. She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Russell A. Cowan in June, 2006 and by a grandson, Russell P. Cowan in 1988, as well as two brothers and a sister. During her life in East Riverside, she enjoyed her garden, church work, and making candles. Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Jones (Derek) of Calgary, Alberta; a son, Howard Cowan (Sharon) of Sorrento, British Columbia; three granddaughters; four great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and nieces and nephews. Although there will be no visititation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John. Interment will take place in the Bayview Cemetery, Hatfield's Point. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. www.brenansfh.com.
