DUGAY, EDWARD JOSEPH (TED) - It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Ted Dugay of 10 Firefly Cres., Quispamsis who passed away on Wednesday September 10, 2008 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Ted was the eldest son of Edward Joseph and Kathleen (Conway) Dugay. He was born on Oct. 20, 1926 in Saint John. Ted was a respected businessman who entered the family roofing business of Joseph Dugay and Son Ltd., following graduation from St. Vincent's (Boys) High School, he was a devout Catholic who dedicated his life to service. He received special blessing from the POPE for his generosity and service to the church. Ted joined the Knights of Colombus, Father Joseph A. Hanebry Council 11201 on Oct 23, 1996. He served in many capacities as an officer and member and was Immediate Past Grand Knight and he was installed as a member of Msgr.,F.M. Lockary Assmy. # 0616 Fourth Degree Knights of Colombus on June 3rd, 2000. He served on several committees and was very active with the Casino Committee. Ted had many interests in life and he loved music. As a youth he was a member of the City Cornet Band, he also loved the water, his trips to Montreal for the hockey games, Boston Baseball games, Belfast Maine to curl and he loved to shop. He also enjoyed bingo and people, Ted was a bachelor and he loved to cook. Ted was a member of the Red Chevron, Adanac Club and the Thistle Curling Club. He enjoyed his summers at his cottage at Cambridge, NB and the community activities and Father Jack Higgins' Church. Ted is survived by one brother James R. Dugay, Jim's fiancé Micheline Jutras, one sister Shirley Stewart (Bob), sisters-in-law Evelyn Dugay (Bill) and Janice Dugay, several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Ted was predeceased by his parents, one brother William F. Dugay (Ev.) and one niece Christine. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Rothesay on Monday September 15, 2008 at 12:05 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
