GOVIC, GIANNI (JOHN) - Born May 18th, 1961 in Saint John, N. B. died peacefully in his sleep on September 10th, 2008 in Montreal, Quebec at the age of 47. Beloved son of Paul and Anita Govic; adored brother and brother-in-law of Gordana Govic and Alexander Sangowicz. Gianni leaves to mourn many uncles, aunts and cousins in Croatia, Italy, Norway, Brazil, Australia, U.S. and Canada; as well as many dear and close family friends. Gianni attended Kennebecasis Valley High School, did a stint at UNB before moving to Montreal, Quebec. Gianni loved cars, motorcycles, rock music, shamanism, parties, beaches, the island of Krapanj, sweets and his cat Stress. He enjoyed being a DJ and had a way with the ladies. Gianni was a true life hero, after a tragic accident that left him a quadriplegic; he battled on courageously for the last 18 years through thick and thin. He always had a wonderful sense of humour and we were proud to be part of his "gang". In lieu of flowers donations to your favourite organization would be appreciated or to the Hospitality Corner of the Montreal General Hospital. Visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home 230 Westmorland Rd. Saint John (646-2424). With visiting hours from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, Monday September 15, 2008. Service will be held on Tuesday at 2 PM from Fundy Funeral Home, Chapel. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
