DANIEL J. TREMBLAY

TREMBLAY, DANIEL J. - It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Daniel J. Tremblay on September 18, 2008 at the Campbellton Regional Hospital. Dan lived most of his 71 years in Dalhousie, where he worked as a professional engineer in the pulp and paper industry. Toward the end of his career, he worked in the same industry as a senior manager in Grand Falls, Newfoundland and Iroquois Falls, Ontario. He was predeceased by his father, Ernest, and his mother Eugenia (Oleskevich). He is survived and will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 47 years Eileen (Theriault) of Point La Nim; by four sons, of whom he was exceedingly proud, Tony (Ellen) of Fredericton, Kevin (Letty) of Ottawa, John (Dianne) of Victoria, and Bryan (Elisa) of Toronto; and by five beautiful grandchildren, Kathryn, Clare, Sarah, Jonathan and Julianna. He is also survived by six brothers and sisters, Michael, Tanya, Peter, Margaret, Clare, and Pat; and many friends and colleagues who will remember his devotion to work and family. Before illness had slowed him in recent years, Dan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, an accomplished woodworker, and a committed Rotarian (Past President & Paul Harris Fellow). Dan also spent many enjoyable winter afternoons skiing in the Charlo Hills as a member of Les Aventuriers Ski Club. Visitation will be at Maher's Funeral Home in Dalhousie on Monday, September 22, from 2-4 and from 7-9 pm, with funeral to be held at St. John Bosco Church (Dalhousie) on Tuesday, September 23, at 11 am. A reception will follow in the church basement. At the family's request, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Maher's Funeral Home, Dalhousie.
