MERVYN G. PATTERSON

PATTERSON, MERVYN G. - The death of Mervyn Patterson occurred at Ridgewood Veteran's Wing, on Friday, September 19, 2008. He was born in Saint John on January 28, 1916 to the late James and Helen (Thorne) Patterson. Mervyn was a veteran of World War II serving in Continental Europe for four and a half years. He worked at the Lantic Sugar Refinery as a cost clerk for many years before his retirement. Mervyn was a member of the NB Masonic Lodge #22. He is survived by his special daughter, Connie MacKay (Dave) of Saint John. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of over 50 years, Hazel (Selfridge); his two brothers: Jim and Percy Patterson and his sister, Helen. Mervyn was the last surviving member of his immediate family. At Mervyn's request there will be no traditional visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held in Cedar Hill Extension on Monday, September 22, 2008 at 11 am. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
