LONG, BURTON S., - Burton Stanley Long, age 79, of Saint John, died peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on September 19, 2008. He was born in Pleasant Ridge, NB, the son of the late Frank and Eva (Darling) Long. He is survived by his wife Muriel (Davis) Long; son David Long; two grandchildren Ryan and Kristy; three brothers Bob and Louise, Francis and Dolores, Raymond and Deby; six sisters Florence Keirstead, Elva Morrell, Treva and Doug MacLeod, Shirley Somerville, Marion and Ron Frail and Judy and Mike Kelly; sister-in-law Marion Long; aunt Esther Long; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Wilbur. Resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Kiersteadville United Baptist Church, Kiersteadville, NB, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008.
