JOHN FRANCIS PIKE

PIKE, JOHN FRANCIS, - Pike, John Francis, 60, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2008, at the Kingsway Care Centre, Quispamsis. Born July 20, 1948 in England, he was the son of the late John and Gladys Pike. John lived a very rich life and was a true gentleman. He loved people and was loved by many who came to know him. John lived in Forest Hills for 40 years and was an active member of the congregation at Forest Hills Baptist Church. He was a devoted member of L'Arche Saint John and in 2005 became a founding core member of the L'Arche home in Saint John. John was a loyal employee of Key Industries for many years before his retirement. He had a passion for singing and music, having a large collection of vinyl records. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, watching sports, and was very photogenic. He is survived by a brother, Kenneth Pike (Catherine) of Rothesay; sisters Ann Quigg (Dick) of Fredericton, Barbara Pike (Tom) of Saint John, Judith Pike of Saint John, Ruth Campbell (Bruce) of Russell, ON and Susan Pike-Raynes (Keith Raynes) of Saint John. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, relatives in England, Newfoundland and Ontario, his L'Arche family, and many friends. He will be dearly missed. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday September 25, 2008 from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Forest Hills Baptist Church on Friday September 26, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Reception will follow at Forest Hills Baptist Church Hall. Private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to the New Brunswick Association for Community Living or New Dawn/L'Arche Saint John Inc.
