ROSS, WALTER ARMSTRONG - Passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Palliative Care Unit surrounded by his family. Born in Saint John on February 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Robert and Greta (Taylor) Ross. Wife of Mona (Connors) Ross, with whom he had just celebrated their 50th anniversary. Walter was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he was a member of Keenagers and had also served on the Board of Trustees. He will be sadly missed by his church family. He was also a member of Full Gospel Businessmen for many years. He enjoyed hockey, taking pictures, and loved walks at the Irving Nature Park. He will also be missed by his beloved cat Holly. Walter was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Robert (Betty); daughters, Bonnie Ross (John Taylor), of Yarmouth, NS, and Susan Ross; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Donald Ross, brother John Taylor Ross, in infancy and sister, Jean Hunt. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., (634-1701) visitation will take place on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Hillcrest Baptist Church.
