EDWARD CLINE

CLINE, EDWARD - Edward Cline, better known as Roger to family and friends, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008 in St. Stephen, NB. He was born in 1919 on Campobello Island, NB, to Edith and Frank Cline. He was a lifelong resident of Campobello. Roger married Nancy (Frost) Cline on September 4, 1948, and they had one daughter, Elizabeth. He built his family a home in Welshpool on Campobello in 1951 and lived there ever since. He was a commercial fisherman for much of his life, as well as a construction truck driver and a groundskeeper for Herring Cove Provincial Park. He enjoyed reading, taking rides to Head Harbour lighthouse, and going out on the ocean in the family boat, and going to church suppers with his wife . He loved spending summer days at the family camp in Whiting with his grandchildren, where he enjoyed telling stories about fishing. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 60 years, Deidre (Nancy) Cline, in May 2008, as well as several brothers and sisters. He is survived and greatly missed by his daughter Elizabeth and husband Jack Dinsmore of Millinocket, ME; one sister, Margaret Smith of Dublin, GA; two granddaughters, Catherine and husband Chris Singley of Topsham, ME, and Kelly Dinsmore of Millinocket, ME and Willington, CT; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kim Farmer of Campobello. Resting at St. Anne's Anglican Church Hall, Welshpool, Campobello, NB from where the visitation will be held on Thursday evening only from 6 to pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Anne's Anglican Church Welshpool, NB on Friday, October 3rd, 2008 at 2:00 pm Canadian time. The interment will immediately follow in the adjoining cemetery followed by a reception in the church hall. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nancy & Roger Cline Memorial Scholarship Fund or to St. Anne's Church Memorial Fund.
