KRISTIANSEN, KARL JOHAN - The death of Karl Kristiansen, of Ellerdale Street, Saint John, occurred at Saint Joseph's Hospital on Wednesday, October 8, 2008. He was born on July 1, 1931 in Saint John to the late Joseph and Genevieve (Derorhe) Kristiansen. Karl was an iron worker by trade and worked in Ontario most of his life. He is survived by his three children: Karen Malatesta (Carmen) of Toronto, ON, Joseph Kristiansen (Dohna) of Halifax, NS and Karla Sheffroth (Gordon) of Brown's Flat, NB; four sisters: Gertrude Gibson, Elsie McIntyre (Jack), Hjordis Driscoll (William) and Kristiana LeBlanc (Alonzo); six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Karl was predeceased by five sisters: Louise Kristiansen, Hazel Lindsay, Carmelitta Gautreau and Loreen Kristiansen and one brother, Frank Kristiansen. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 1 pm. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
