GETCHELL, CAROLYN ALWILDA - The passing of Carolyn Alwilda Getchell of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Hector Getchell, occurred on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the York Manor Nursing Home. Born on June 1, 1911 in Bonnie River, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Margaret (MacDougall) Campbell. She was a member of the Union Street United Baptist Church Guild, St. Stephen, NB. Carolyn loved to sing, loved to bake and loved to read. Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Christine (Leo) Beausoleil, Beverley Cosman both of Fredericton, NB and Carole Waye of Toronto, ON; son, Ronald (Erma) Getchell of Hinsdale, NH; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sister, Louise Smith of Calais, ME and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Carolyn was predeceased by daughter, Eleanor Laslie; infant son, Eric; great grandson, Bryan; sisters, Florence, Edith and Grace; brother, Charles. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, October 12, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 11 am with Rev. David DuBois and Rev. Pete Thomas officiating. Interment will take place on Tuesday at 2 pm in St. Stephen Rural Cemetery.
