WHITE, MELVIN LOUIS - It is with great sadness that Melvin Louis White, age 63, husband of Sandra Gail (Keleher) White, died on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was predeceased by his father, Frederick Louis White and mother, Doris Mildred (Noiles) White. Melvin was born in Saint John and worked as a longshoreman for 44 years with I.L.A. Local 273. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gail White; one son, Melvin "Benny" Wade White (Laurie); one daughter, Rhonda Gail White (Mark); and two grandchildren, Marcus and Rachel; one sister, Lorraine Sullivan of Bayswater; three brothers, Freddie (Nancy) of Pocologan, Gordon "Butch" (Marie) of Saint John, Bruce (Paula) of P.E.I.; and several nieces, nephews and their families. Following cremation, Melvin will be resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 from 9:30 to 10am. The funeral service will follow at 10am from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
