HAYES, DONALD - Donald Hayes was born to Urban J. and Ella B. (Hall) Hayes in Jeffries Corner on March 7, 1929. He was a miner and mechanic at Denison Mines for several years, a member of St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus council #8213. Don is survived by Virginia (Travers) his wife of 55 years, his children: Mary-Ellen Webster and her husband Daniel of Sussex Corner, Jane Folkins and her husband Harold of Collina, Carolyn LeBlanc and her husband Claude of Sussex Corner, Gail Allaby and her husband Phillip of Hanford Brook, Joseph of Jeffries Corner, David and his wife Leslie of Sussex Corner, Julie Drummond and her husband Gary of Upperton, Peter and Ruth of Smith Creek, Stephen and his wife Joyce of Calgary, Frank and his wife Margaret of Smith Creek, William of Sussex, Paul and Shirley-Ann of Sussex, Robert of Sussex, Mark of Jefferies Corner; his brothers: Patrick Hayes and his wife Lorena of St. Martins, Fred and his wife Margaret of Sussex Corner, Carl John and his wife Debbie of Saint John, Walter and his wife Evelyn of Jeffries Corner; his sisters: Elizabeth Monahan and her husband Raymond of Sussex, Karine and her husband Earl of Calgary, Lois Cassidy and her husband Elton of Saint John, Bernice Hayes of Australia and Marie Rideout and her husband Wayne (Slim) of Ontario.; 26 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Donald J. Hayes of Jeffries Corner, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre on October 15, 2008 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by his son, Philip, his brother, Jack and by his sister, Marjorie Somerville. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sussex, (506-433-1176), where visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church on Saturday October 18, 2008 at 10:00am. The interment will take place at Wards Creek Cemetery.
