It is with great sadness that the family of the late Michael Downey announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Sunday, march 23, 2008 at the age of 70 years. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Margaret, one daughter, Michele Downey of St. George’s, four brothers: Barney (Carmel) Downey of Stephenville, Billy Downey of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Terry (Marina) Downey of Stephenville Crossing, Francie (Linda) of Stephenville, two sisters: Liz Payne of Stephenville Crossing, Jane Corn of Indiana, mother-in-law Rita Blanchard, and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, eight brothers and four sisters. Friends may call at St. Joseph’s Parish, St. George’s from 7-9 pm on Monday. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, March 26th at 2 pm at St. Joseph’s Parish, St. George’s with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brook Street, Stephenville Crossing. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville Crossing.
