ANNA MARIE WANAMAKER

WANAMAKER, ANNA MARIE - Mrs. Anna Marie Wanamaker of Hampton NB passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 16, 2008. She was the daughter of Wellington and Della (Bishop) Chase of Chipman NB. Anna came from a large close knit family. She moved to The Range, NB, with her husband Herbert James Wanamaker (pre-deceased 2003) to run the family dairy farm. Moving to Hampton in 1964, they operated the Shell service station and Dairy Bar ( now Ron's). Anna welcomed many people into their home over her lifetime, caring for many children, boarders and the elderly, running Wanamaker's Special Care Home. Anna was a member of the Eastern Star, an avid card player and a wonderful cook. She passed away after a couragous stuggle with kidney disease and ailing health. At the time of her death she was surrounded by her family; Mary Ann Fillmore (David) of Hampton, Paul (Heather Beckwith) of Dickie Mountain, and Barry (Dave Lantz) of Bathurst. Anna enjoyed her grandchildren; Jill, Micheal, Tyler, Morgan, Haylie and great-grand son Alex. Also surviving are one sister, Carol Buchanan, Chipman; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five brothers, Purdy, Kenneth, Vernon, Reginald and Clayton Chase and three sisters, Helen Bishop, Ruth Ward and infant Kathleen Chase. The entire family would like to thank the many health care providers who looked after our mother, especially the nurses and doctors of the Dialysis Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their many years of loving care and attention. Resting at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, with visitation 2-4pm Saturday and 2-4pm & 7-9pm Sunday. The funeral will be held Monday, 10:30am at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Hampton with Rev. Leo Martin officiating. Interment will be in Hampton Rural Cemetery following cremation.
