BELL, BESSIE (BETTY) GERTRUDE - Betty passed away peacefully at the Kelowna General Hospital on October 11, 2008 at the age of 84. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Nettie (Leiper) Robinson of Sussex, N.B. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Doug, and her sister, Marion Moore. Following her graduation from the Montreal General Hospital in 1946, Betty also nursed in Toronto and Ottawa before moving to B.C. in 1980. She will be remembered for her wit and graciousness by family and friends. Betty is survived by her brother John Robinson (Elizabeth) Sussex, N.B. nephews Bill Moore (Jeanne), John (Nicky) and Derek (Angela) Robinson, nieces Ann Stewart (Bob), Heather Gariepy (Dave), Wendy Gallant (Ray), Catherine Eddie (Nolan), and Judy (John) Bains. Betty is also survived by many great and great, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. In accordance with Betty's wishes there will be no visitation or service. Following cremation her ashes will be interred in Kelowna. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westbank Food Bank, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Arthritis Society of Canada.
