DONALD BERRYMAN
BERRYMAN, DONALD - The death of Donald Berryman of Douglas occurred on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born 1922 in Mechanic Settlement, Kings County,NB. He was the son of the late Roy and Elizabeth (Long) Berryman. Donald was a Veteran of WWII serving in the arterial with the Algonquin Regiment and the North Shore Regiment. He had served five years overseas and was wounded in action, and served a total of 13 years of service. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 53 and Branch # 4 in Fredericton. He had worked as a Back Tender with the Irving Pulp and Paper for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He is survived by his children, Roxanne Hooper (Walter), Gary Berryman (Daisy), Dawn Gavel (Rick), Theresa Berryman, Shane Berryman (Helena), Lee McNeill (Dan), Lana Lagace (Richard) and Tammy Berryman; one sister Jean Marshall of Ontario; 17 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 51 years Ada (Dorbyson) Berryman in 1999; granddaughter, Shana Lee Berryman and several brothers and sisters. By request there will be no visitations. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Thursday October 30, 2008 at 11 am. A tribute to a Veteran service will be held prior to funeral service. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
