ALEXANDER JAMIE SMITH ALLAN

ALLAN, ALEXANDER JAMIE SMITH - March 26, 1913 - October 30, 2008 - Born in Verdun, the second of 4 sons of David and Mary Ann Allan, he grew up in Saint. John NB. Al met the love of his life, Ruth Mullin in 1934. They married in 1942, moving to Montreal in 1946. They had a son and a daughter and provided a wonderful family life to their children. Al was always a positive and happy person and will be remembered for his corny jokes and laughter. He was a long time employee of McLean Kennedy Steamship Agency and loved his job. He was also an elder in Ephraim Scott Memorial Church. After his retirement he and Ruth spent half the year in Jemseg NB, enjoying their garden and the Mayflower seniors group. He loved jazz and always had his "musicbox" going. He is predeceased by his 3 brothers, his son David in 2004 and his beloved Ruthie in 2005. He leaves with treasured memories his daughter Mary Lou (Pat), Smithers BC, grandsons Jeffrey, Montreal, Gregory, Toronto, David, Montreal, Cody, Vancouver, his favorite granddaughter Christie (Oliver), Prince George BC, and great-grandson Anthony. He also leaves Ruth's sister Frances Mullin. Lang may your lum reek Dad. We love you. Funeral service will be held Saturday, November 8th at 11 a.m. at Rideau Funeral home 4275, Sources Blvd., Dollard-des- Ormeaux, (514) 685-3344. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson Society Quebec would be appreciated.
