JENKINS, DORIS GERTRUDE - The death of Doris Gertrude Jenkins of Hampton, widow of Charles Jenkins occurred November 10, 2008 at her residence. She was born in 1918 in Little Ridge, Charlotte County, NB daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Hannon) Cumberland. Doris was a resident of Birch Grove Manor for the last thirty years. She was a housewife and avid bowler until age 85. She was a nanny to numerous children over the years. Doris served in the Militia from 1951 - 1958 and was a member of Hampton Branch #28 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by three sons, Eugene Jenkins (Dianne), Moss Glen, NB, Donald C. Jenkins (Eleanor), Hampton, Stephen Jenkins (Faye), Edgetts Landing, NB; daughter Joyce Wilson (Hazen Urquhart), Moss Glen, NB; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; two loyal and devoted friends, Marilyn Rent (Gary) and Margie Turnbull (Tom); sisters, Berlah Powers, St. Andrews, Margaret Henry, Barrie, ON; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters and one brother. Cremation will be followed by visitation at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, on Wednesday from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. The funeral will be held Thursday, 10:00 am at Reid's Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Lyons officiating. Interment in Long Reach United Cemetery at a later date.
