Passed peacefully away at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the age of 90 years. Born at Cartyville, NL on August 24, 1917. Youngest child of William and Rachel (Chaffey) Hulan. Survived by her sons, Lionel (friend, Marilyn) of Stephenville, Donald (Joan) Shears of Sherwood, Prince Edward Island, daughter, Ina (Chesley) Shears of Heatherton, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, J. Richard Shears in 1961, eldest son, David in 1979, her parents, William and Rachel Hulan, siblings, infant sister, Minnie Dorcas, Eric, Audrey, Irene, “Lil”/Whilemina, Sleigh, Stephen, Stanley and Martha Jane. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. at Russell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville with Rev. Karen Laldin officiating. Interment will take place at the St. George’s Anglican Cemetery in Robinson’s. No flowers by family’s request.
