EDITH PAYNTER
PAYNTER, EDITH - Edith Juanita Paynter ,96, of McNair Manor, Riverview and formerly Salisbury passed away Monday November 17, 2008 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late Amasa and Martha (Anderson) Rogers. Together with her late husband Tom they moved to Vulcan Alberta in 1964 and returned to New Brunswick (Salisbury) in 1987. A homemaker, she also worked in a veterinary clinic and later in a craft shop in Alberta. A keen craftslady, her family and friends have many treasures of hers, including knitting, sewing, crochet and especially quilting. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano and board games especially scrabble which she usually won. Survived and sadly missed by her children Merna Hoar, Salisbury, Bruce (Eleanor), Regina SK., George, Coos Bay Oregon, Linda Nelson (Robert), Turner Valley AB.; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Survived also by sisters Ada Wright, Richmond Hill On., Elta Hall, Salisbury and a brother M. Perry Rogers, Rhode Island. Predeceased by her husband Thomas (2003), sisters Ruth and Marjorie, infant brother Allan, son in law Ronald Hoar and grandson David Hoar. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Thursday 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held from the funeral home chapel on Friday November 21 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dan Compton officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Petitcodiac. If desired memorials to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated. www.keirsteads.ca
