AKERLEY, MAXINE - Maxine O. Akerley, formerly of Newman Street, Saint John, wife of the late Ralph Akerley, passed away on Monday, December 01, 2008 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born at Welsford, she was a daughter of the late John and Bertha (Porter) Macdonald. Maxine was formerly employed as a receptionist with the Coast Guard for many years. Maxine is survived by two brothers, Wallace Macdonald of Oakville, Ontario, and Ian Macdonald (Jacqueline) of Perth, Ontario; a sister, Helen Stairs (Edward) of Cranbrook, BC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband who died in 1983, Maxine was predeceased by two brothers, David and Robert Macdonald. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (634-7425), with visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 2:30 PM from Brenan's Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place in the Welsford Valley Community Cemetery.
