POORE, LEONARD CHESTER - The passing of Leonard Chester Poore, husband of Gladys (Jenkins) Poore, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Monday, December 01, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 27, 1922 in Nashwaak Bridge, NB, he was a son of the late Leonard and Dorothy (Urquhart) Poore. Leonard was a member of the Brunswick Street Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the 2nd World War, member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, Fredericton and Masonic Lodge. He was Past President of the Fredericton North Rotary Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Jim (Heather) Poore of Fredericton ; one daughter, Pamela Poore of Fredericton; two grandchildren, Jamie Poore and Leslie Burgess; four great grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, McKenzie Burgess and Cohen Poore. Although there will be no visitation by request, a Memorial Service will be held from Brunswick Street Baptist Church on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11am with Rev. Dr. Terry Atkinson officiating.
