ROSEMARY DANFORTH CLANTON
CLANTON, ROSEMARY DANFORTH - osemary Danforth Clanton, 76, of Annapolis, MD died on December 18, 2008 of natural causes. Rosemary, wife of Ronald Clanton (deceased) and mother of two, was born on November 6, 1932 in Bloomfield New Jersey and was adopted by Harold and Mildred Danforth. She graduated from Hempstead High School, Long Island, NY in 1950 and attended business school after High School. In 1952 Rosemary married Ronald Clanton in Dayton, OH and moved to the Annapolis area where they both worked at Westinghouse Electric Co. She and Ron settled in Arnold, MD where they raised their children. In 2002 Rosemary and Ron celebrated their 50th anniversary. Rosemary moved to Heritage Harbor in 2006. In the 1960's Rosemary and Ron purchased a summer home on the island of Grand Manan in New Brunswick, Canada where Ron's mother was raised. Spending summers on the island Rosemary, the consummate hostess, routinely gathered family and friends for lobster feasts and fabulous dinners. Recently Ron and Rosemary donated most of their Grand Manan property to the Natures Trust of New Brunswick Canada as a park, named the Meredith Houseworth memorial seashore in the memory of their niece who died in 1988 at the age of 20. A loving mother and wife, Rosemary loved to entertain her family and wide circle of friends with her wonderful culinary skills. Her generosity and kindness to friends and family was humbling and noteworthy. She is survived by her two children, Claudia Woods and Arthur Clanton; her three grand-children, Jessica Woods, Scott Woods, and Cecelia Clanton; her son-in-law Edward Woods and daughter-in-law Angela Clanton; her sisters Nellie Jane Evans and Nancy Houseworth. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Rosemary's Life on January 3rd at 3:00 PM at her daughter's home at 3540 Jamestown Rd, Davidsonville, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: American Diabetes Foundation, Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Arrangements have been made by Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home.
