WARD, ARTHUR MACLEAN - The death of Arthur MacLean Ward, of Saint John, passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born January 13, 1922, in Saint John he was the son of the late Charles Gordon and Annie Louise Ward. Arthur worked as a Manufacturing Agent for many years and retired as a salesperson for Courtney Drug Wholesaler. Arthur was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a member of U.C.T. Surviving are loving wife of 13 years Gwendolyn (Foote) Ward; children Elizabeth Ann (Buster) Macumber, Sussex; Arthur M. Jr. (Betty) Ward, Coldbrook NS; Donald G. (Mary-Kaye) Ward, Saint John; William G. (Shelley) Ward, Quispamsis; Peter M. (Valerie) Ward, Saint John; step-children, Dianne (Charles) Godfrey, Saint John; Brian (Jennifer) Foote, Saint John. 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Besides his parents Arthur was predeceased by his first wife Jean Elizabeth "Betty" Ward, and a sister Dorothy (Bud) Frost. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Thursday (January 8, 2009) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday January 9, 2009 at 11 am.
