SAUNDERS, HOWARD KITCHENER - The death of Howard Kitchener Saunders of Fredericton, NB, occurred at the York Manor Nursing Home on Sunday, January 11th, 2009. Born in Marysville, NB, he was the son of the late Fraser and Ida (Boies) Saunders. Howard was employed with the Provincial Government at the Centennial Building for over 20 years. He was an avid horse racing fan and enjoyed senior baseball in the 1930's. Howard is survived by one sister-in-law, Nora Saunders; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, Beulah Rideout, Mary Green and Betty Halford; one brother, Frank Saunders. There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will take place at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Doug Hapeman officiating. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
