Surrounded by her loving family, Susanna McCarthy passed peacefully away on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters: Madeline (Melvin) Janes of Deer Lake, Margaret (Leander) Russell of Corner Brook, Rosemary (Brian) Piercey of Deer Lake and Sharon McCarthy (Joe Short) of Fort McMurray; grandchildren: Todd (Rachel) Janes, Susan Russell, Kelly (Cheyann) Penney, Christopher Russell, Jamie Piercey and Justin Piercey; great-grandchildren: Chelsey-lee and Kameron Penney, Kiara and Luke Janes; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis McCarthy; daughter, Patricia; one sister and four brothers. Visitation will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook on Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at The Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. The family wished to thank the wonderful caregivers at Deer Lake Manor and the Interfaith Home, and also the nurses and doctors at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their loving and compassionate care shown to our mother.
