FENNELL, DONALD LOUIS - The death of Donald Louis Fennell, loving husband to Jean Coates-Fennell occurred at his residence on January 15, 2009. Born 1918 in Saint John he was the son of the late Louis and Annie (O'Shaughnessy) Fennell. Don had worked as a clerk for CNR for 40 years retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 53, serving in various offices and the CN pensioners. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council # 937and Council #6595. Besides his loving wife Jean of 10 years, he is survived by his children; Anna Clare Edgett (Arthur), Donnie (Doreen), Mary Carmel O'Neill (John), Margaret Taylor (Peter) all of Saint John and Patricia Levesque (Richard) of Otter Lake, Quebec; stepson Edward Albright (Terry) of Saint John; grandchildren Sean Silverstein (Amanda) of Cochrane, Alberta, Debbie Squires (Rodney), Kim O'Connor (Shawn), Shannon O'Neill, Colleen O'Neill and Brock Taylor all of Saint John; great grandchildren Sean, Cody, Cameron, Savanna, Curtis, Taylor and Karter; brother Allan Fennell; special companion, his dog Baba; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Rosemary (Fleiger) Fennell in 1997; granddaughter Paige Taylor; siblings Gerald Fennell, Patrick Fennell and Joan Sparks. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Saturday and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A tribute to a Veteran Service will be held on Sunday evening at 7 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus prayer service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from St. Ann's Catholic Church on Monday January 19, 2009 at 11a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
