Passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital Bethany Place, Wilfred Lawrence Parsons of Corner Brook at the age of 77 years. Leaving to mourn, his devoted wife, Gertrude (Walsh); daughter, Wynne Anne Parsons-Coady; two precious and much loved grandsons, Justin (and friend, Sheena King) of Fort McMurray and Matthew Coady and their father, David Coady; brothers: Joseph (Brada) of Corner Brook and John (Betty) of Labrador City; sister, Irene Chaulk of Stephenville, sister-in-law, Janet Parsons; and a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Parsons; brother, James; and sisters: Cecily Follett and Agnes (O’Brien) Bennett. Visitation will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Saturday, February 16, 2008 and Sunday, February 17, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, February 18, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer with Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the family or a charity of one’s choice.
