COSGROVE, PATRICIA MAUREEN - The death of Patricia Cosgrove occurred unexpectedly on Tuesday February 3, 2009 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, Oct. 12, 1936 she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Mercer) Cosgrove. Educated in local schools, she was a 1957 graduate of Victoria Public Hospital School of Nursing in Fredericton, N.B. Her nursing career took her to Montreal to work at the Montreal Children's Hospital and the Maternity Unit of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Upon her return to Saint John in 1971, she nursed at The Old General Hospital and The Saint John Regional Hospital from where she retired. She was a member of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary and St. Ann's Bowling League. She was a valued volunteer at the gift shop at St. Joseph's Hospital. Pat is survived by three brothers; John (Pauline), Arthur (Jeanette) and Daniel (Suzanne) all of Saint John; seven nephews; six nieces; her aunt Mary Mercer and several cousins including Daniel McAleese of County Antrim, Northern Ireland. Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitations to be held on Friday February 6, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church on Saturday February 7, 2009 at 10 a.m. Following cremation interment will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in the spring.
