JENNINGS, HAROLD VERN - The death of Harold Vern Jennings, loving husband of Velda (Wood) Jennings, occurred on Tuesday February 17, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1928 in Saint John he was the son of the late Harold Ernest and Evelyn (Linkletter) Jennings. Harold worked for Industrial Security's for many years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 69 and the River Valley Seniors Club. Besides his loving wife Velda of 16 years, he is survived by son Harold Jennings of Apohaqui and Scott Jennings (Jennine Neufold) of Grand Prairie, AB; daughters, Evelyn Reid of Beamsville, ON and Veronica Holmes (Mike) of Hampton, NB; brothers, Donald Jennings (Christine) of Martinon, and Glendon Jennings (Jackie) of Saint John; sisters, Dorothy Patterson of Ocala, FL, Norma Brown of Martinon and Vera D'Angeli of Summerville, Mass.; sister-in-law Marie Jennings of Oakville, Conn; grandchildren, Candace Stroud (Jason), Andrew, Kati, Devin and Mackenzie; great grandchildren, Lindsay Roary, Jordan and Jack Stroud; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by granddaughter Christine Roary; brother James Jennings and son-in-law Bob Reid. Following cremation, visitations will be held from Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday February 21, 2009 at 10 am.
