NASON, DORIS IRENE - Unexpectedly, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on February 17th, 2009, Mrs. Doris Irene (McGarrigle) Nason, wife of the late Mr. Ronald Nason of St. George NB. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on February 8, 1932, she was a daughter of the late James and Seretha (Leavitt) McGarrigle. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, Doris is survived by two sons; Robert (Ellen) Nason of Saint John NB and Samuel Nason of St. George; one daughter, Irene Howe of Saint John; five grandchildren, Patrick (Tracy) Howe of Sussex NB, Michael Howe of Bloomfield NB, Robert William Nason, Kristina Nason and Ryan Nason all of Saint John; three great grandchildren, Makhia, Zackery and Joshua; two sisters, Emma Maillet and Florence Leavitt both of Blacks Harbour; three brothers, Gerald McGarrigle and Kenny (Juanita) McGarrigle both of Blacks Harbour and Wesley (Pam) McGarrigle of St. Stephen NB; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband Ronald, she was predeceased by two sisters, Linda Matheson and Mary McGarrigle; and four brothers, Lorne, Jimmy, Bill and Everett. Doris was an avid soap opera fan who enjoyed watching television. She loved country music and adored her cats. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3553) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB from where the service will be held from the Gary E Waycott Memorial Chapel on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Canon Howard Anningson officiating. The interment will be held at the St. George Rural Cemetery in the spring. Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
