LESTER LEON CARSON
CARSON, LESTER LEON - Lester Leon Carson of Havelock, NB passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 24th, 2009 at the Moncton City Hospital after a brief illness. Born November 20th, 1921 in Salem, NB, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Maude (Thorne) Carson. Lester was a member of the Havelock United Baptist Church and a 60 year member of L.O.L. Lodge # 52. He was a founding member of The Havelock Horse Show and former Director of the Queens Co. Fair, Gagetown and a Life long member of Kings East Liberal Association. Lester had retired from Canada Cement Lafarge and Dead River Lumber Company. Left to mourn his passing are his sons Deverne (Mary) with whom he resided, and Dana (Linda) - Havelock, daughter-in-law Anna - Moncton, sisters Veta (Roy) Cosman - Havelock, and Joy (Albert) Keating - Salisbury, brothers Royden (Anne) - Havelock, and Ron (Darlene) - Salisbury, sister-in-law Jean Carson of Sussex, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Lester was pre-deceased by Elsie, his wife of 59 years; his son Donald (2000) and brother Harold (1988). Visitation to be held at Havelock Funeral Parlour, 19 Cross St (534-2600) on Thursday, February 26th, from 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be at the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Friday, February 27th at 1:30 pm with Reverend Jeff Irving officiating. Interment will be at Fairhaven Cemetery, Moncton. In Lester's memory donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation, or Canadian Diabetes Association or donor's choice. www.keirsteads.ca
