CARL E. (CHUCK) SLEETH
SLEETH, CARL E. (CHUCK) - It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my brother, Carl Sleeth, at the Loch Lomond Villa. Carl was in his 85th year and was predeceased by his wife Elaine (Mikki). Born in Douglastown, NB, he was the son of the late Chester and Margaret Sleeth. He was a veteran of WWII having served overseas with R.C.E.M.E. Carl retired from the Irving Oil Refinery in 1990 after being employed as a stationary engineer for 30 years. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 64. He was predeceased by his parents and 4 brothers, Beverly, Chester, William and Frank, 4 sisters, Margaret (Estey), Pearl (Johnstone), Wanda and Gertrude. He is survived by one sister, Gloria Cooper, of Hamilton, ON and many nieces and nephews. At Carls request, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest in the Veterans section of Woodland Cemetery, in Hamilton, with his brothers Beverly and Chester. Carl led a full life. He and his wife Elaine traveled extensively. They spent winters in Florida and many summers in St. Andrews, NB. After his wife's passing we spent wonderful times with my family in Chilliwack, BC and Wawa and Hamilton, ON, where, to his delight, at the age of 78 he went for a hot air balloon ride. He was a wonderful singer and dancer and has left a tremendous void in my life. My heartfelt thanks go to our nephew and niece, Harold and Joanne Johnstone. They and their boys made Carl part of their family and he loved them dearly. Special thanks is extended to Edith Jones for her loving companionship in his last few years. Last but not least, my sincere thanks to the Loch Lomond Villa, Ash Lane. Words cannot express my gratitude to the nurses and staff for the constant care and concern that was extended to Carl and myself during his stay there. "Brother and sister by chance...Friends by choice" Love Gloria
