CRUICKSHANK, VALERIE MAXWELL (KNOX) - The death of Valerie Maxwell Cruickshank of Rothesay, NB, wife of Leslie H. Cruickshank, occurred on Thursday, March 5th, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in St. Stephen, NB on July 25th, 1938, to the late William and Frances (Maxwell) Knox. Valerie was an active member of St. James the Less Anglican Church, and various seniors groups in the Kennebecasis Valley Area, where she loved to play bridge and cards. Her beautiful gardens gave her a great sense of pride and joy. Besides her loving husband, Leslie, she will be sadly missed by her girls, Carrie (John) Fournier, of Saint John, Jodi Cruickshank, of Calgary, AB, and Nicole (Huey) Lord, of Quispamsis, NB; and five grandchildren, Kyle and Alex Fournier and Ella, Ethan and Julian Lord. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Knox. Resting at St. James the Less Anglican Church, 1760 Rothesay Road, with visiting on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Sunday from 5-9 pm. The funeral service will be held there on Monday, March 9th, 2009 at 11 am. Interment will be in Ocean View Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. James the Less Memorial Fund, READ Saint John or Camp Medley.
