NORWOOD, BARBARA SCOVIL RN - The death of Barbara Scovil Norwood, RN of Gagetown, NB, beloved wife of Arnold Norwood, occurred at home March 9, 2009. Barbara was born at Queenstown, NB June 12, 1920 daughter of the late Bentley and Charlotte (Scovil) Peters. Barbara was a graduate of the Saint John General School of Nursing 1942. She spent her early career years as a country nurse with Dr. Willard Jenkins and later at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Survived by her husband Arnold Norwood, one sister, Frances Gordon of Perth, ON; two nephews, Leonard Gordon of Barrie, ON and James Gordon of Ottawa, ON. She was predeceased by her parents, brother P.O. Leonard Peters, and one sister, Elinor Peters, RN. Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, Friday, March 13th, 2009 from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held from St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Queenstown, NB on Saturday, March 14th, 2009 at 2:00 pm, Rev. Valerie Hunt, Rev. Karman Hunt and Rev. Gerald Laskey will officiate. Interment will take place in adjoining cemetery.
