ROBERTS, OTTY DOUGLAS - With great sadness the family of the late Otty Douglas Roberts, announce his passing after a courageous battle with cancer. Otty passed while at home and surrounded by his loving family. Born December 9th, 1930 in Hampton, Otty stayed a lifelong resident and was the only child of the late Geraldine (Dixon) and Harry Roberts. Survived by his wife Blanche (Courts); daughter Peggy (Doug) McCrea, Belleisle Bay; sons, Ralph, New York, Frank, Hampton, Wilfred, Saint John, George and John (Tracey), Hampton; grandchildren, Robin (Chris) Elward, Melissa and Meaghan McCrea, Shaunna (Roy) Coleman, Justin and Tanner Roberts, Sarah and Samantha Roberts, Evan and Todd Roberts and Karly Roberts; great grandchildren, Gracie McCrea, Claire Elward, Haley and Ethan Coleman. Otty was an active member of St. Paul's Anglican Church in Hampton. He was well known throughout the community for his friendliness and attending community events, socials and benefits for others. Otty always took the time for a chat and coffee with his many friends. He and Blanche's home was always open to anyone in need. Otty owned and operated the town of Hampton's dump for twenty five years and retired in 1997. Arrangements are under the care of Reid's Funeral Home, Hampton, with visitations 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm on Tuesday, March 17th. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 2pm, March 18th at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 486 Kennebecasis River Road, Hampton. Interment will be in Hampton Rural Cemetery in the spring.
