BURGESS, CHARLES ROY - The death of Charles Roy Burgess, 53, of Passekeag, partner of Karen (Maxwell) occurred March 18, 2009. He was born in Toronto, son of Lucy (Doherty) Burgess and the late Charles Burgess. Roy served with the Royal Canadian Regiment as a Paratrooper, the R.S.C. and also with the Militia. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for thirty four years. Roy was a pipefitter by trade and enjoyed fishing, gardening, sports and spending time with his family. He is survived by his mother, Lucy; partner, Karen (Maxwell) and her children, Anthony Gallant, Rachelle Salamone (Jerry) and their children, Sylvio and Caleb; two sisters, Colleen Livingston, Pam Bryant (Stephen); one brother, Frank Burgess (Ngan); several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Visitation will be at Reid's Funeral Home (832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, Friday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm with vigil prayers in the afternoon and a legion tribute at 6:45pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Church, Hampton, on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 11:00am. Interment in St. Alphonsus Cemetery at a later date.
