DELANEY, DOUGLAS "RICKY" (1947 - 2009) - The death of Douglas "Ricky" Delaney occurred at the Campbellton Regional Hospital on March 27th, 2009. He was 62 years of age. Surrounded by his family, he battled cancer for more than 13 years, but in the end, though his will did not fail, his body did. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Denise (Arseneau) Delaney, a daughter Tracy Esliger (Carl) of Lorne, a son Gregory Delaney (Aloma) of Riverview, two granddaughters, Kathleen and Jillian Esliger, and a grandson Tennyson Delaney. He is also survived by his father Cyr Delaney, a sister Heather Delaney, and special niece Jennifer Hamilton (Dwayne), all of Dalhousie, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Bertha (Savoie) Delaney. Born in Saint-John, he was a paper maker at the Bowater pulp and paper mill in Dalhousie for 33 years. Funeral mass was held March 31st at St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society
