MCPHAIL, FREDA GERALDINE - The death of Freda Geraldine (nee Gray) McPhail, wife of the late Alex McPhail occurred on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 following a brief illness at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on Good Corner, NB, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ferne (Jones) Gray. Geraldine taught school at the Southern Victoria Regional High School in Andover, NB and then at Albert Street Junior High School from 1967 until her retirement in 1983. She was a longtime and active member of Imperial Rebekah Lodge # 102 where she held the positions of Chaplain and District Deputy President at the time of her death. She was also a longtime and active member of St. Paul's United Church, the UCW and the NB Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by her grandchildren, Heather Clark (Bradley Clark) of Saint John, NB, Curtis McPhail (Cathy McPhail) of Moncton, NB and Janet McPhail of Kanata, ON; great-grandsons, Brady Clark and Jordan, Brandon and Hunter McPhail. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband; one son Robert McPhail; a sister Janet and her step-mother, Daphne Gray. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will take place at St. Paul's United Church on Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Paul Ross officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Kincardine United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and for those who wish, memorial tributes made to St. Paul's United Church would be appreciated by the family.
