SMITH, DAVID E. - David Edward Smith of Saint John passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 03, 2009 at his residence. Born at Saint John on August 28, 1957, he was a son of Hazen Edward and Joan Frances (Wilson) Smith. David worked as a bartender, and had a great love of animals. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs and cats, and gladly fed any of the neighbourhood wildlife that would wander into his yard. In addition to his parents, David is survived by a brother, Brian Smith (Beth Comeau) of Saint John; a sister, Joanne Curbishley (Robert) of Saint John; a nephew, Bradley Smith; nieces Amanda and Michelle Curbishley; an uncle, Gary Wilson; and aunts Norma McKinney and Dorothy Sherwood. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM from Brenan's Chapel. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
