GREENE, JAMES EDWIN (JIMMY) - 80 of Ingalls Head, Grand Manan passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on Monday morning May 4, 2009, after a courageous battle with Cancer. He was the son of the late Douglas and Ruth (Lounder) Green of Ingalls Head. Jimmy was a well known Painting Contractor and worked in many homes on the Island for over sixty years. In his spare time he was an avid reader, enjoyed music, art work, and Sunday morning visits with his brothers. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife Betty-Jean Green, one daughter Theresa Green (Kendall) of Saint John. One son Timothy Greene of Grand Harbour. Two sisters Betty Ingalls (Ray) Mildred Locke both of Ingalls Head, four brothers Carman (Mary) of North Head, Winston (Melva), Gary (Maxine), Burtis (Mary) Green, all of Ingalls Head, Grand Manan, and one half brother David Voutt of St. Stephen, as well as one Grand Child and two Great Grand children, several nieces and nephews. Jimmy was predeceased by his first wife Edwina in 1981, one brother Douglas and one son Kenneth. The family will receive friends and relatives at Ells Funeral Home on Tuesday 2 to 4 PM, and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Central Wesleyan Church, Wednesday May 6, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Kirk Perry officiating assisted by Rev. Dana Dean, with interment to follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Castalia. Donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated.
