CUNNINGHAM, ARTHUR - Of Saint John, passed away, unexpectedly, in Bangor, Maine on Thursday, May 14, 2009. Born in Saint John, NB, he was the son of the late Walter J. Cunningham and Reta (Crandall) Cunningham. Loving husband of Joan Cunningham. Arthur retired from Moosehead Breweries. He spent most of his life playing sports and was an inductee in the Softball Hall of Fame for New Brunswick and the Saint John Hall of Fame for St. Peter's Ball Team. He was also known as "Gun". Besides his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Wendy (Paul) Oliver, of Saint John and Marron (Brian) Fewer, of Maple Ridge, BC; five grandchildren, Sean, Susan (Grant) and Craig & Tara (Nick) and Luke; two great-grandchildren, Finley and William and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Gerald, Raymond and Pat. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place on Monday, May 18, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception at the Fallsview Family Reception Center following the interment. Donations, in memory of Arthur, may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
