DOROTHY MAY SABEAN
SABEAN, DOROTHY MAY - It is with great sadness that after a brief battle with cancer, Dorothy May Sabean passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on May 28th, 2009. Born 1938 in Saint John to Dorothy (Hopcutt) Davis and the late Raymond H. Davis. She is survived by her son Jeff of Saint John; one daughter Brenda of Ontario; four brothers Donald Davis of Saint John, Ronald Davis (Bernice) of Weymouth, NS, Gordon Davis (Sally) and Douglas Davis (Sandra) both of Saint John; one sister Mitzi Garnett of Hampton; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her father, Dot was predeceased by her niece Shelley; sister-in-law Shirley and brother-in-law Douglas. Dorothy was a member of the Friends Of Rockwood Park and had many friends there. She was an avid Gardner and took great pride in her gardens and knew most botanical names for her plants. Dot always had special love for animals, especially her beloved dog Chico and her cat Pee Wee. Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd. with visitation on Sunday, May 31st from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday June 1st, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Following the service private family interment will take place at a later date. Special thanks for the compassionate care given to Dot from the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the SJRH, On-cology Dept., Emergency Dept. and Palliative Care Unit which enabled her to live out her life with dignity to the end.
